Individual therapy, also known as talk therapy or counselling, is conducted by a trained therapist or psychologist.
The most common goals of one-on-one therapy consist of inspiration, change and openness. Improvement of quality of life is also a vital part of therapy. Therapy is generally known to increase positive feelings, such as compassion and/or self esteem levels. When centred around problems, individual counselling may help to provide a healthier way of handling difficult situations and lead to self-growth.
It is best to seek therapy if there is a pressing issue causing an interference to daily life or some sort of distress. Seeking help when feeling particularly unhappy, overwhelmed or hopeless, is a good idea. Concerns that are discussed during therapy include (but are not limited to): anxiety, stress, eating disorders, addiction, abuse, and so on.
The first session of therapy usually consists of gathering information, so the professional may begin their evaluation of the situation. Our patients’ comfort and safety come first, and confidentiality codes stand strong. There are many forms of therapy used under different circumstances. This first session is usually where our professionals will be able to get a grasp of the situation and how to deal with it. The aim is then to aid people with healthy self-growth habits and to develop coping skills.
Determination to actively work through problems is shown by all of our staff, aiding our patients with a healthy and positive environment at all times.
