Occupational Therapy

WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

Paediatric Occupational Therapy (OT) is a branch of health care that treats kids with a wide range of difficulties which affect their daily lives, such as, difficulty tolerating the touch of clothing or eating age-appropriate foods, difficulty tolerating noisy environments, to fine motor coordination, poor body posture, learning and playing appropriately. We work together with physicians, parents and caregivers to develop a treatment plan designed to achieve reliable results and greater satisfaction for everyone. Through evidence based practice, education, problem solving and encouragement, we reach the child’s maximum potential, step by step.

How can an OT help?

• Maintain function so the kids can continue to live independently or with minimal support in their home and prevent injuries and complications.
• Regain skills after an illness or injury so they can go back to their usual activities at home, or school.
• Develop new skills when disorder, disability, learning problems or other health issues interfere with normal skills development. Enable the kids you’re caring for to do as much as they can safely do for themselves.

What are our treatment options?
